November Virtual Sketch Date

This time around the VSD image is a landscape. I was not very excited about the image at first, since I was in a still life mode of late and was expecting one. :-) But had a blast doing it. I went in for a very loose style, no sketching whatsoever. Just painted as I felt like. It is Acrylics on Paper.

Be sure to check the Virtual Sketch Date blog tomorrow to see all the entries. I am really looking forward to it.

  1. Too good, Nithya! Reminded of Impressionistic paintings. The tree foreground reminds Van Gogh's painting - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Van_Gogh_the_blooming_plumtree_(after_Hiroshige),_1887.jpg.

I love the blue and different green shades for trees.

    Great job!

  2. I like how you made sense of the somewhat confusing background and how you balanced the yellow leaves on the left with some yellow in the background on the right.

  6. I love the calligraphy of your brush strokes - of the branches, the leaves, and the shadows. The tree has movement, as if it is a very windy November day. Nice work. ~ Kim

  8. I love the tree's boldness, it says "here i am, notice me." the background supports this so well....love the colors too. Great job.
